You do not need to turn your weekend into a pest-control project. Between professional visits, a few ordinary household habits and a timely message can be more useful than buying another spray.
Orange Mango's general pest service takes place every two months. Here is how to use the time between visits, including when something deserves attention before your next appointment.
Your between-visit checklist
- Keep food sealed, clean accessible spills and address known leaks.
- Note where and when activity repeats; share an existing photo if useful.
- Tell us about construction, landscaping or changes to access.
- Ask before adding another pest product, and follow your service instructions.
- Contact us about continuing activity; you do not need to wait for the next routine visit.
Start with one recurring problem
Think about the area that keeps coming up in your home. Maybe it is food collecting beneath the kitchen trash bag, a damp cabinet under the sink, or delivery boxes accumulating in the garage. Pick the one you can reasonably address this week.
Keep food sealed, clean up spills and investigate known leaks. These steps reduce resources pests can use. They do not establish which pest is present or replace treatment when it is needed. The EPA's household pest-control guidance explains why prevention belongs alongside any treatment plan.
For a busy household, a repeatable habit is easier to keep than an ambitious whole-house checklist. Make checking beneath the trash bag part of taking the garbage out, for example. If a plumbing problem needs a repair professional, put that call on the list rather than trying to solve it with pest products.
Tell us about work around the house
A new deck, replacement siding or a landscaping project may change which areas are accessible at your next visit. Let us know what work happened and where, especially if materials or equipment are still beside the house.
That information helps us plan the visit. It does not automatically mean the previous treatment failed or that the entire property needs another application. Whether an area needs attention depends on the pest concern, the work completed and the treatment involved.
The TriBand Protection System organizes Orange Mango's exterior attention around the foundation, entry points and accessible upper exterior areas. Keeping us informed about changes helps us apply that approach to your property as it is today.
Seeing bugs again? Give us a useful update
You do not have to identify a bug before contacting us. Start with the room or outdoor area where you found it, whether it was one sighting or a repeated pattern, and roughly when it started. Include a clear photo if you already have one.
A message such as “I have seen ants beside the kitchen sink on three mornings this week” gives us a starting point. That is an example of useful detail, not a claim about a particular customer's home.
If your concern involves a visible opening or damaged seal, our repair-or-inspection guide covers that decision separately. You do not need to diagnose the entry point before asking for help.
Ask before adding another treatment
Tell your technician about any pest products you have already used, including where and when. Before adding something else, ask whether it fits the current treatment plan. More product is not automatically more effective, and any pesticide must be used according to its label.
Follow the instructions given for your actual service, including access and re-entry directions. Preparation for one pest concern may differ from preparation for another. If an instruction is unclear, call rather than guess.
You do not have to wait for the next visit
The every-two-month schedule describes routine general pest service. It does not mean you should save up questions until the next appointment. Contact Orange Mango about continuing activity so we can discuss the pest, the applicable coverage and the next step. A new concern may require a different service scope.
For homes in Jefferson City and across our Mid-Missouri service area, the useful routine is straightforward: address the household issue you can manage, tell us what has changed, and contact us when activity continues. Call 573-298-8200 or send Orange Mango a message.
